Associate Professor Kim M. Dalziel

Kim Dalziel joined the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne in January 2013 and she is a current Harkness Fellow with The Commonwealth Fund based at The University of Michigan. Kim is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Health Economics Group, Centre for Health Policy. Her previous appointments include with the Health Economics and Social Policy Group at the University of South Australia, Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, and Peninsula Technology Assessment Group at the University of Exeter in the UK.

Kim leads a program of research in child health and has specialist expertise in economic evaluation and modelling, child health policy, vulnerability/equity and use of health services and economic evaluation alongside clinical trials. She also leads the Health Technology Group who perform evaluations for the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) to guide Medicare investment decisions.

Kim has active collaborations with the Royal Children's Hospital, The Royal Women's Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, as well as the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI). She actively supervises Masters of Public Health, clinical advanced trainee research projects and PhD students and she has authored over 70 peer reviewed publications.

Kim will be bringing her experience and expertise in advising the Policy and Practice Translation Subcommittee of the CRE in Newborn Medicine in the area of health economics.
